040806 091254r754 viewsGoldsworthy Junction, BHP Goninan GE rebuild CM40-8MEFI 5666 'Taranto' serial 8412-11 / 94-157, was the first unit fitted with Electronic Fuel Injection to the 16FDL engine hence the EFI on the model designation, is in charge of the Weighbridge Calibration train which is situated in the middle of the switches at the Goldsworthy Junction. 5666 will do several trips back and forward over the weighbridge at various speed to allow the technicians to calibrate it as well as having to clear the mainline for loaded and empty train movements. 0915 hrs 6th August 2004.

070402 8697752 viewsNelson Point Locomotive Service Shop see brand new BHP Billiton's Electro-Motive built SD70ACe/LC unit 4314 serial 20058712-001, this first of a batch of ten to have the Electro-Motive 'Whisper' or isolated cab. BHP Billiton bought the first SD70ACe type locomotive with this feature, and as such this loco was sent for testing to the Pueblo Test Track in the USA prior to delivery. EDI personnel are fitting the unit out since arriving only the day before. 2nd April 2007.

The loco will end up on the track in foreground as it shunts the compressor set on the empty waggon line. 25th May 2008.

Unlike the Hamersley Iron system married pairs, the Robe fleet each have their own brake system and are coupled by a length of round bar as the Cape Lambert dumper only dumps one waggon at a time. Monday 10th January 2005.
