Seen here approaching the Redbank Bridge. Of note is these cells for FMG will clamp the top of the ore waggon, similar to the Pilbara Iron dumpers, while the BHP cells clamp down on side pockets in the waggons. Sunday 23rd September 2007.

061209 8227r1796 viewsSeven Mile 38 Road, retired Robe River Comeng WA ALCo rebuild model C636R unit 9427 serial WA143-2 sits stripped of engine, fuel tank and pilots ready for road haulage to Perth for rebuilding and use on FMG rail construction trains in May-June 2007. This unit was originally built by ALCo as C636 serial 3499-2 of January 1968 for Pennsylvania Railroad as #6331, and was purchased off Conrail as #6781 in 1986 and was rebuilt by Comeng WA prior to delivery in January 1987. 9th December 2006.

The rail is moulded 136 10 VT NIPPON 2014 4 which translates to 136 Ib/yard (or 68 kg/m), 10 for Low Alloy, VT for processes of hydrogen elimination as Vacuum Treated, NIPPON is the manufacturer Nippon Steel, Japan, 2014 year rolled and 4 is month rolled.

061209 8231r1758 viewsSeven Mile 38 Road, former Robe River AE Goodwin built ALCo M636 unit 9416 serial G6046-16 awaits a new owner. 9416 was originally built for Hamersley Iron as #4045 and was purchased by Robe right before shipping to Hamersley Iron and entered service in February 1973. The ducting on the hood is the air to air intercooler modifications that Robe trialled. Also of note is the unit is fitted with an ALCo C630 fuel tank, swapped when the C630 units were rebuilt into the CM40-8M units. 9th of December 2006.
