251-32297 viewsNelson Point, the final ALCo on the BHP roster, 5499 sits stored pending its future. Built by Comeng NSW in November 1975 as an ALCo M636 with serial number C6096-04. The unit was intended to be donated to Thursday Island, but this didn't eventuate due to logistical reasons. It is now at the Rail Heritage WA museum in Bassendean. 22nd April 2000.Nov 12, 2020

Goninan GE rebuild unit 5656 a CM40-8M unit with serial number 8412-01 / 94-147 sits on shed with a sister units. This facility was used to service and fuel locomotives while their respective waggon rakes were being tipped through the car dumpers. 22nd April 2000.Nov 12, 2020

251-14218 viewsNelson Point, BHP's retired Goninan WA's ALCo C636 to GE C36-7M rebuilds, these were the first time in the world that an ALCo C636 had been rebuilt into an GE C36-7, are lined up near the service shop awaiting their fate. The line is 5510, 5506, 5508, 5512, 5513, 5507, 5509, 5511, and, 5513. They had recently been displaced due to the arrival of the AC6000 units which also took their name plates. Only two units would go on to survive 5507 and 5508. 22nd April 2000.Nov 12, 2020
