Comeng WA ALCo rebuild CE636R unit 9426 has already been sent to Perth and sister 9427 is stripped and ready to follow. The other units behind 9427 are ALCo M636 units 9416, 9413, 9415 and 9412. 9th December 2006.

061209 8227r383 viewsSeven Mile 38 Road, retired Robe River Comeng WA ALCo rebuild model CE636R unit 9427 serial WA143-2 sits stripped of engine, fuel tank and pilots ready for road haulage to Perth for rebuilding and use on FMG rail construction trains in May-June 2007. This unit was originally built by ALCo as C636 serial 3499-2 of January 1968 for Pennsylvania Railroad as #6331, and was purchased off Conrail as #6781 in 1986 and was rebuilt by Comeng WA prior to delivery in January 1987. 9th December 2006.

On road N2 is 9427 a Comeng WA CE636R rebuild from ALCo Schenectady NY model C636 serial 3499-2 originally built in January 1968 for Pennsylvania Railroad as #6331, Penn Central 6331 and finally Conrail 6781. Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into CE636R before delivery to Robe in January 1987. This loco also went on to become DR 8403 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Approximate location. 24th April 2004.
