060113 2443338 viewsThevenard, at the Gypsum Resources Australian (GRA) gypsum unloading site, 1604 leads a triple consist of Clyde Engineering EMD JL22C model 1600 / NJ class combination of 1604 serial 71-731 and originally NJ 4, NJ 3 serial 71-730 and 1601 serial 71-728 class leader NJ 1, all three units started on the Central Australia Railway in 1971 and were transferred to the Eyre Peninsula in 1981. 1604 and 1601 both renumbered in 2004. Friday 13th January 2006.

Still wearing Australian National green and yellow but with ASR decals as it stands in the yard with a couple of ENH type hopper waggons. 13th January 2006.

060113 2539338 viewsKevin, 1600 class unit 1604 in Australian Railroad Group livery a Clyde Engineering built EMD JL22C model serial 71-731, originally built as NJ class NJ 4 and built for the Central Australia Railway in 1971, transferred to the Eyre Peninsula in 1981, shunts back along the Penong line with the points indicator set for the siding and the goods siding on the right of the train. Kevin station area, as the train is reversed prior to loading on the mainline to Thevenard. 13th January 2006.

One of forty rebuilt by Islington Workshops 1978-79 to the HCN type with a 36 ton rating, increased to 40 tonnes in 1984. Fitted with a Moose Metalworks roll-top cover. 5th July 2013.

PD 12865338 viewsWest Kalgoorlie, AOPY 32408 with fleet number 937, was renumbered to 4906 but the 4 has been removed, one of seventy ex ANR coal waggons rebuilt from AOKF type by Bluebird Engineering SA in service with ARG on Koolyanobbing iron ore trains. They used to be three metres longer and originally built by Metropolitan Cammell Britain as GB type in 1952-55, seen here in a rake with sister waggons.
