R 1003 is an Electro Motive built NW2 model with serial number 4114 and frame number of E761-8 was built in November 1946 at La Grange originally for Canadian National with road number 7943. Sold to Comalco in December 1975 and entered service in 1976. This unit was subsequently scrapped in 2000.

213-14307 viewsWeipa, Lorim Point workshops looking east, Comalco R 1001 loco Clyde Engineering built EMD model GT26C serial 72-752 sits at the fuel point, items of note are these units were setup to have the long hood leading, the second 'tropical roof' and the five chime horn cut into the nose. This unit is almost identical to the GT26C models of the WAGR L class. September 1995.
