RT 49 started out as I waggon 7507 built by Victorian Railways 21-02-1905, converted to IA in 1936, then K 85 in April 1955 and in 1969 to the underframe of RT 49 by Ballarat North Workshops.

203-27298 viewsDrillers Ridge, Wittenoom, the DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) tower was a navigation aid for the Department of Civil Aviation for the Wittenoom airport, the site was also used by Telecom for providing 'radio links' for phones into Wittenoom prior to the current tower located at the eastern edge of town which links back to Auski Roadhouse.

210-09298 viewsWeipa, Lorim Point railway workshops, observer side view of Comalco R 1001 loco Clyde Engineering EMD model GT26C serial 72-752 while is sits at the fuel point, items of note are these units were setup to have the long hood leading, the CCTV camera looking down the long hood, the second 'tropical roof' and the five chime horn cut into the nose. Also noticeable, the units don't have dynamic brakes fitted so there is no brake 'blister' in the middle of the hood like you see on the WAGR L or VR C classes which are also GT26C models.
