252-02291 viewsCockatoo Siding 273 km on the Hamersley Iron line to Yandi, ballast plough waggon BP 02 is on the end of a ballast rake being loaded. BP 02 has been converted from an Nippon Sharyo ore waggon with the mounting of an air compressor on top and the fitting of a plough blade, the waggon is also loaded with ballast to ballast the plough. Location is roughly here. 24th November 2001.

At the time of this image Siding 3 or Murray Camp was unable to cross ore trains so Siding One - Harding or Siding Two - Maitland were used. May 2002.

In 1975 it was purchased by the Society and is named after a local river. July 1, 2024.

240701 2759291 viewsPilbara Railways Historical Society museum, former Cliffs Robe River Iron Associates RSC-3 model ALCo locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) in 1951 for NSWGR as the 40 class 4002 serial 77733, purchased by CRRIA in 1971 and numbered 261.002, then 1705 and finally 9405. 4002 is preserved in an operational state and another claim to fame is it run the Royal Train in NSW February 1954. Donated to the Society in 1979. July 1, 2024.

They used to be three metres longer and originally built by Metropolitan Cammell Britain as GB type in 1952-55, 28th May 2006.
