The workshops are to the left of the picture. Where I'm standing to take the picture is now all stockpile. Approximate location of photo is here. 22nd May 2002.

248-1831 viewsSeven Mile yard, stored Robe River ALCo locomotives at the south end of the Hamersley Iron Seven Mile yard on roads N2 and N3. On road N2 is 9427 a Comeng WA C636R rebuild from ALCo Schenectady NY model C636 serial 3499-2 originally built in January 1968 for Pennsylvania Railroad as #6331, Penn Central 6331 and finally Conrail 6781. Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in January 1987. This loco also went on to become DR 8403 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Behind it is sister unit 9426. Approximate location. 24th April 2004.

Friday 12th of April 2002.

283-3431 viewsNear Woodbrook as quad Robe River CM40-8M units 9414, 9420, 9410 and 9525 work a loaded 202 waggons bound for Cape Lambert as they pass through the cutting at the 37.5 km pipe bridge. 9420 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 8109-03 / 91-119 from March 1991 riding on Hi-Ad bogies and was originally an ALCo Schenectady built C630 serial 3486-4 and built new for Chesapeake & Ohio (USA) as their 2103. It is one of four C630 ALCo units purchased in 1974 and delivered to Robe in January 1975. Everything below the frame is ALCo while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. 22nd May 2002.

130710 100731 viewsParkeston, SCT train 3PG1 fuel pod waggon PQFY 3055 with two AMT5 type SCT-Logicoil 32,000 litre fuel tanktainers TILU 102029 and TILU 102024. PQFY 3055 was built by Carmor Engineering SA in 1976 as an RMX flat waggon, recoded to AQMY, then reclassed to RQMY in 1994.

130710 101231 viewsParkeston, SCT train 3PG1 operating from Perth to Melbourne, PQCY 777 was originally built by Victorian Railways Newport Workshops in 1973 as one of one hundred and twenty five FQX type 60' 3TEU container flat waggons, it was recoded to VQCX in 1980, then to National Rail in November 1994 as RQCX before private ownership and reclassed PQCY type. PQCY 777 is now fitted with bulkheads and here loaded its own gates, and an SCT half height curtain sider 40' container SCT 1009 double stacked with Hamburg Sud 40' 45G1 type container HASU 574817.

130710 102331 viewsParkeston, SCT train 3PG1, 80' jumbo container waggon PQDY 6 was originally built by Victorian Railways Newport Workshops in August 1975 as one of twenty five FCF type 'Jumbo' container waggons, recoded to FCW in 04/1977, recoded to VQDW in 01/1980 then to National Rail in April 1994 as RQDW, then RQDY. Ended up with Freight Australia, and now as PQDY 6 with SCT. Carrying two 20' containers, a Cronos 2EG1 type CRXU 076834, a 22G1 type BSIU 237290 and a 40' SCF 45G1 type container SCF 996860.
