247-2660 viewsCape Lambert fuel point, Robe River locomotive 9420 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 8109-03 / 91-119 from March 1991 riding on Hi-Ad bogies and was originally an ALCo Schenectady built C630 serial 3486-4 and built new for Chesapeake & Ohio (USA) as their 2103. It is one of four C630 ALCo units purchased in 1974 and delivered to Robe in January 1975. Everything below the frame is ALCo while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. Approximate location of the locos is here. 22nd May 2002.

110620 2392r60 viewsWalla, comparison between loaded BHP ore waggons from Comeng WA in 2925 and from Astra Vagoane, Arad Romania in 3312. 2925 is from a batch of four hundred built in 1971 by Comeng WA, while 3312 is from a batch of three hundred and fifty built in 1988 by Astra Vagoane, of which only two hundred and eighty-four didn't enter service. The Comeng build features square side and floor joins, while the Astra Vagoane build is all rounded. 20th of June 2011.

030712 14324760 viewsNelson Point, empty BHP ore waggon 9024, originally built by Comeng in Mittagong NSW as a part of seven prototype ore waggons made from low carbon 301 stainless steel with an higher volume and aerodynamic flat sides and were bogieless with four independent radial wheel sets. Of the seven waggon, the first four had a flat floor and final three had a drop belly floor. The radial wheel sets were later replaced with conventional bogies. This view shows the reduced gap between waggons reduced from 1084 to 934 mm to aid the aerodynamics. 12th of July 2003.
