248-0856 viewsDingo Siding on the Hamersley Iron railway at the 39 km with an empty train headed up by a pair of General Electric built Dash 9-44CW units 7077 serial 47756 from the original first order in the Pepsi Can livery and 9408 serial 54158 from the fourth order in the Pilbara Rail livery with Robe ownership markings. Approximate location. 24th April 2004.

251-0656 viewsNelson Point, BHP's recently retired Goninan WA ALCo C636 to GE C36-7M rebuild unit 5507 awaits its fate. Rebuilt in 1987 at Goninan's Welshpool factory from 1969 AE Goodwin built ALCo C636 with serial number G6035-2 and road number 5461 and assigned new serial number 4839-03 / 87-072. It was delivered in Mt Newman Mining orange and was named Ethel Creek, then in 1991 5507 emerged in BHP livery carrying Mt Whaleback, then renamed to Corunna Downs and again finally to Nimingarra, it was also one of three units to carry the Goldsworthy Joint Venture lettering. In 2003 it was fully rebuilt and leased to Pilbara Rail in that livery and numbered 5051. It survives stored at 7 mile complex as at Dec 2021. 22nd April 2000.

At the time of this image Siding 3 or Murray Camp was unable to cross ore trains so Siding One - Harding or Siding Two - Maitland were used. May 2002.

256-2256 viewsMaitland Siding, Robe River CM40-8M unit 9417 (2nd) leading an empty train into the passing track. 9417 was the first CM40-8M rebuild carried out by Goninan in 1989, it was originally an ALCo built C636 unit for Spokane Portland & Seattle numbered 340 with serial number 6010-1, it went onto to be Burlington Northern 4366 and then purchased for Robe River in late 1980 as a parts source. When finally rebuilt by Goninan in June 1989 it had new serial number of 6266-5 / 89-83 and replaced the original 9417 which was scrapped in 1979. May 2002.

267-1556 viewsGoldsworthy Junction, the Sundowner Special is on the Newman mainline leg of the Goldsworthy Junction and triangle, with the Sundowner coach in between CM40-8M GE unit 5634 'Boodarie' serial number 8151-07 / 91-120 and sister CM40-8M 5653. This train, and the empty before it, were delayed due to a jamming switch for the transfer road where Tamper 2 and Ballast Regulator 31 can be seen holding track. The road curving around to the left is the Goldsworthy mainline to Boodarie and Finucane Island. Friday 12th of April 2002.
