140601 4663117 viewsMidland, loaded iron ore train #1030 heading to Kwinana, CFCLA leased CHCH type waggon CHCH 7748 these waggons were rebuilt between 2010 and 2012 by Bluebird Rail Operations SA from former Goldsworthy Mining hopper waggons originally built by Tomlinson WA and Scotts of Ipswich Qld back in the 60's to early 80's. 1st June 2014.

Friday 12th of April 2002.

Budd in 1939 numbered 301 as the Silver Star, a diner-parlour-observation coach on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad's General Pershing Zephyr train from the 1930s and 1940s. Donated to Mt Newman Mining Co. by AMAX an original joint venture partner to commemorate the projects first 100 million tonnes of iron ore railed between Mount Whaleback mine and the Port Hedland port. 12th of April 2002.

Seen here in Caltex service with a 70,000 litre capacity.

The AQIY were originally built as the CQYY but CFCLA did not buy them, Bradken then stored them as KQYY. When Aurizon bought them they had the handbrake relocated to the middle of the waggon from the end.
