060723 7845275 viewsOriginal Hamersley Iron compressor waggon sets IC-1 and IC-3 which were made from cutting down condemned ore waggons and then fitting Atlas Copco XAS 97 air compressors, receiver tanks and fuel tanks. The compressors have been fitted to a swing cradle to limit the in-train forces during the unloading process. 7 Mile 23rd July 2006.

247-11275 viewsCape Lambert, Robe River's 9426 a Comeng WA rebuild from ALCo Schenectady NY model C636 serial 3499-3 originally built in January 1968 for Pennsylvania as #6332, Penn Central 6332 and finally Conrail 6782. Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in November 1986. This loco also went on to become DR 8401 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Seen here in the South Yard dragging a loaded rake down to the car dumper. Approximate location of train is here. 22nd May 2002.

The yellow circle indicates the rotary coupler end and the tare weight of the slave waggon at 22.6 tonnes, while the master weighs 22.9 tonnes as it hosts the brake control equipment. 16th January 2008.

200412 6069274 viewsBoodarie, part of a loaded FMG train, a mismatched waggon pair, both are CRRC Yangtze Rolling Stock Co. of China builds, 7535 is a slave waggon with rotary coupler and 23.1 tonne tare and carrying the wrong number as it should be 7635, coupled to control waggon 8636 23.3 tonnes tare. Earlier on the same day I saw another 7535 coupled to a 8536. Both should be 2018 builds. 12th April 2020.
