248-25435 viewsSeven Mile yard, stored Robe River ALCo locomotives at the south end of the Hamersley Iron Seven Mile yard on roads N2 and N3. On road N2 is 9426 a Comeng WA C636R rebuild from ALCo Schenectady NY model C636 serial 3499-3 originally built in January 1968 for Pennsylvania Railroad as #6332, Penn Central 6332 and finally Conrail 6782. Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in November 1986. This loco also went on to become DR 8401 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Behind it is sister unit 9427 and ALCo M636 9412. Approximate location. 24th April 2004.

267-18435 viewsGoldsworthy Junction, the Sundowner Special is on the Newman mainline leg of the Goldsworthy Junction and triangle, with the Sundowner coach in between CM40-8M GE unit 5634 'Boodarie' serial number 8151-07 / 91-120 and sister CM40-8M 5653. This train, and the empty before it, were delayed due to a jamming switch for the transfer road where Tamper 2 and Ballast Regulator 31 can be seen holding track. The road curving around to the left is the Goldsworthy mainline to Boodarie and Finucane Island. Friday 12th of April 2002.

267-37435 viewsAt the 39 km detection site with the Alstom 25-year service agreement special, BHP Iron Ore's Goninan GE rebuild CM40-8M unit 5634 'Boodarie' serial number 8151-07 / 91-120 stands on the Newman mainline with the train as the party alight for an inspection of the site.

0553 Magor 030712 142543435 viewsNelson Point, empty BHP ore waggon 553, one of the original Magor USA build waggons bought out at construction of the Mt Newman project. Visible is the ODCX code and number 82190 from the Oroville Dam Construction company days in the USA. Unsure of the MS6-82 code, the DZ 11-95 code was the late time it was internally painted to reduce wear and the SL 76 with 92 below it was the last time the Miner SL-76 draft gear was replaced. The orange smiley sticker indicates that this is an original 'Oroville Dam' ore waggon and non relayed AB braked. 12th of July 2003. 0 has been added to number to correctly place the waggon in sequence. July 12, 2003.

9024 Comeng 030712 143247435 viewsNelson Point, empty BHP ore waggon 9024, originally built by Comeng in Mittagong NSW as a part of seven prototype ore waggons made from low carbon 301 stainless steel with an higher volume and aerodynamic flat sides and were bogieless with four independent radial wheel sets. Of the seven waggon, the first four had a flat floor and final three had a drop belly floor. The radial wheel sets were later replaced with conventional bogies. This view shows the reduced gap between waggons reduced from 1084 to 934 mm to aid the aerodynamics. July 12, 2003.

Budd in 1939 numbered 301 as the Silver Star as a diner-parlour-observation coach on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad's General Pershing Zephyr train from the 1930s and 1940s. Donated to Mt Newman Mining Co. by AMAX an original joint venture partner to commemorate the projects first 100 million tonnes of iron ore railed between Mount Whaleback mine and the Port Hedland port.
