246-25230 viewsCape Lambert, Robe River locomotive 9425 which is a Goninan WA ALCo to GE rebuild CM40-8M with serial 6266-8 / 89-85 from August 1989 riding on Hi-Ad bogies and was originally an AE Goodwin built M636 ALCo serial C-6041-4 and built new for Mt Newman Mining (later BHP Iron Ore) in April 1970 and numbered 5468, sold to Robe and delivered by road 17th August 1982. Everything below the frame is ALCo while above is GE and Pilbara Cab. 22nd May 2002.

248-20230 viewsSeven Mile yard, stored Robe River ALCo locomotives at the south end of the Hamersley Iron Seven Mile yard on roads N2 and N3. On N2 is AE Goodwin built ALCo M636 unit 9412 serial G-6060-3 from December 1971 and originally numbered 262.003 during construction and then 1712 on MLW Dofasco bogies with C636R units 9427 and 9426 on Hi-Ad bogies. Beside it on N3 is 9416 also an AE Goodwin built ALCo M636 serial G-6046-16 from January 1973 and originally numbered 1716 on MLW Dofasco bogies but with a C630 fuel tank in place of the original M636 and larger tank. Approximate location. 24th April 2004.

248-23230 viewsSeven Mile yard, stored Robe River ALCo locomotives at the south end of the Hamersley Iron Seven Mile yard on roads N2 and N3. On road N2 is 9427 a Comeng WA C636R rebuild from ALCo Schenectady NY model C636 serial 3499-2 originally built in January 1968 for Pennsylvania Railroad as #6331, Penn Central 6331 and finally Conrail 6781. Purchased in 1986 and rebuilt by Comeng WA into C636R before delivery to Robe in January 1987. This loco also went on to become DR 8403 for construction of FMG's railway in 2007-08. Approximate location. 24th April 2004.

267-24230 viewsGoldsworthy Junction, CM40-8M GE rebuild unit 5653 'Chiba' serial number 8412-10 / 93-144 trails sister unit 5634 as 5634 turns on the power as it passes Goldsworthy Junction relay room and continues along the Newman Mainline with the Sundowner Special. Friday 12th of April 2002.

267-35230 viewsAt the 39 km detection site with the Alstom 25-year service agreement special, BHP Iron Ore's Goninan GE rebuild CM40-8M unit 5634 'Boodarie' serial number 8151-07 / 91-120 stands on the Newman mainline with the train as the party alight for an inspection of the site. Friday 12th of April 2002.

Budd in 1939 numbered 301 as the Silver Star, a diner-parlour-observation coach on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad's General Pershing Zephyr train from the 1930s and 1940s. Donated to Mt Newman Mining Co. by AMAX an original joint venture partner to commemorate the projects first 100 million tonnes of iron ore railed between Mount Whaleback mine and the Port Hedland port. 12th of April 2002.

283-31230 viewsNear Woodbrook as quad Robe River CM40-8M units 9414, 9420, 9410 and 9525 work a loaded 202 waggons bound for Cape Lambert as they power through the cutting up a short grade at the 37.5 km pipe bridge. 9414 with serial number 8206-11 / 91-124 was rebuilt by Goninan in 1991 from AE Goodwin built M636 ALCo model with original serial number G-6060-5 from 1971. 22nd of May 2002.
